"Actually, many more women should really do this"

Linda participated in the Women's Health program. For Linda (51), the health examination at Prescan was mainly a moment to reflect on her own health. Although there's plenty of information available online on topics like lifestyle, hormones, and menopause, she often missed the personal approach.

She didn't just want general information but particularly insight into her own situation. That's why she found the conversations with the specialists valuable.

''I can read all about it on the internet. But I prefer that personal approach. I want someone to take a good look at me and listen. What you read or see on the internet is often very general, but every woman is unique. Every woman is different; so it's important that there's room for that bit of personal attention.''

Living room atmosphere

From the first moment, Linda felt at ease. The approachable atmosphere and the attention from the staff made it easy for her to ask questions freely.

According to her, the examination didn't feel like a standard medical appointment but like an environment where time was truly taken for her health and personal questions.

It's a bit like sitting in your own living room. You can ask all sorts of questions to people who are very knowledgeable and really take the time for you.

What Linda also appreciated was the opportunity to discuss topics that aren't always easy to talk about. Although conversations with friends are valuable, she finds that medical questions often require specialist knowledge.

"There are some questions you wouldn't quickly ask friends or other women. It's nice to be able to talk about them in a professional setting."

Guidelines for the future.

The day not only provided her with insight into her current health, but also guidelines for the future. Through discussions with various specialists, she gained more clarity on focal points and lifestyle choices.

"I really had the time to be thoroughly checked and to ask a lot of questions. That helped me progress in understanding what I already knew about myself and my health."

The Menopause

Linda is currently 51, so menopause is something she's experiencing now. With vague symptoms like hot flashes and trouble sleeping, you're not likely to quickly visit a doctor. That's exactly why she found it valuable to take a closer look at what's happening in her body and what choices she can make to age healthily.

For me, it was very interesting to learn more about my own body. What should I pay attention to? And are there things in my lifestyle that I need to adjust for the future?

Looking back, Linda describes her visit as a positive and educational experience. A day that wasn’t just centered around examinations but primarily focused on personal attention, expert advice, and gaining more insight into her own health.

"I really found it to be an addition. Actually, many more women should do this."
