Whether you need to come to the clinic fasting depends on the examination you are having. For laboratory examinations at Prescan, you don't need to be completely fasting. However, for some MRI examinations, such as an MRI scan of the upper abdomen, specific rules for eating and drinking do apply.
Always follow the preparation instructions you receive from Prescan for your appointment. These personal instructions are guiding.
Sometimes it's useful to bring sportswear. During the bike test (part of the cardiological examination), you will need to exert yourself. Therefore, it is advisable to bring sportswear that you can wear during this examination. You may always bring other (loose-fitting, comfortable) clothing to ensure that you go through the examination as smoothly as possible.
In all Prescan clinics, it is possible to have something to eat on the examination day. We have a buttet with different type of foods and drinks. You will be informed about this on your examination day.
To confirm our mutual agreements, we ask you to sign your personal document. This can be done easily online, so we're well prepared together. This way, at the clinic, we can fully focus on your examination and it's also environmentally friendly.
In an x-orbita, an image of the eye socket is taken using X-rays. You do not feel the X-rays, and in this "low-dose" form, they are harmless. If you need to undergo an x-orbita, you have indicated that you have previously had metal splinters in your eyes. This X-ray will show if there are any splinters still present. The cost of the X-ray will be charged to you. If metal splinters are found, the MRI examination cannot proceed. In that case, the costs of the MRI examination will not be charged to you.
You can have an x-orbit performed at the MRI center or at Prescan in Ahaus. In both cases, the costs of the X-ray are at your own expense. For more information about having an x-orbit taken, you can contact us at 074 255 9255.
A preventive skin check helps to detect skin problems at an early stage, before you experience symptoms. During a dermatological examination, we assess the overall condition of your skin and look for noticeable or suspicious spots, such as pigment spots or signs of sun damage. This way, you can take timely measures to protect your skin. Do you already have symptoms or notice changes in your skin? Always contact your general practitioner first.
