'As an entrepreneur, you lead a demanding life. Sometimes it's really like a top-level sport, with various hurdles along the way. Much is expected of you, and you have many responsibilities. That's why I pay attention to my health and exercise a lot. If I'm out of action, it has direct consequences for my company. When I saw an advertisement for Prescan in the newspaper, I thought: that sounds ideal, then I would be done in half a day. I like that concept.

During my first examination, I was still somewhat skeptical.

From Skepticism to Confirmation

I have had a bodyscan performed twice so far. It's not with the expectation that they will find something. It's more of a check to see if everything is still in order. If there is something, then there is something. If there is nothing, then that's good. During my first examination, I was still somewhat skeptical. That's why I wanted to be sure and I didn't mention my nasal polyps. I thought it would be interesting to see if the specialist at Prescan would detect those polyps. And indeed: after my first examination, the nasal polyps came to light. That gave me confirmation of the quality of the examination, a sort of peace of mind. In the end, apart from my nasal polyps, nothing special came out of the first examination.

Especially as you get older, you need to be a bit more alert about your health.

I had my second Bodyscan in 2020. It was combined with a dermatological examination. I didn't think this was an important or essential option, but it was included in my total scan. When the specialist entered - I was lying on the examination table - she immediately noticed a mole on my stomach. After the MRI scan and the dermatological examination were done, that spot on my stomach was indeed concerning. It eventually turned out to be a melanoma, and the specialist advised me not to leave the spot for too long. Therefore, I went to my general practitioner for a referral, after which a piece of skin was incubated in the hospital. It indeed revealed that the spot was malignant. Not long after, the rest of the melanoma was removed in the hospital.

It's a kind of check to see if everything is still in order.

Immediate Results

Especially as you get older, you need to be a bit more alert about your health. Sooner or later, the complications and the impact on your body become noticeable. Therefore, it's better to be proactive. Plus, in my case, something significant has to be wrong before I visit my GP. That's why the concept of Prescan is ideal for me – I can go there without symptoms or suspicions and immediately find out if something is going on. This way, you can also prevent potential healthcare costs at a later stage. That's why I recommend a preventive examination at Prescan to everyone.'
