I am claustrophobic. Is this an issue during the examinations?

During an examination in the MRI, it can be problematic if you are claustrophobic. Contact us by phone to carefully prepare for the examination together to prevent premature termination.

Once in the clinic, you will receive personal guidance and we use our experience to put you at ease. During the scan, you will have a bell in your hand that you can use to alert the technician if there is anything. In a bodyscan, five targeted MRI scans are made of the skull & brain, neck vessels, chest, upper and lower abdomen, and this takes approximately 45-50 minutes. The program can be stopped at any time if you wish. The tunnel you lie in is 60-70cm and through a mirror you can look outside, or on our latest scanners in Baarn or Ahaus, make use of entertainment.

If you need to interrupt the MRI examination prematurely or decide you do not wish to proceed at the moment due to claustrophobia, there will be no refund of the examination costs. You also cannot book a new appointment free of charge.
